Sergen Şehitoğlu’s sculpture titled “cubes S_S1” is situated in the outdoor area of CI22 as an apolitical data visualization. For this production, Şehitoğlu obtains the data he uses from an art institution with which he has had an organic connection for the past 10 years, and specifically from the institution’s space located at Karaköy Mumhane Street No:67. By transforming the perceived color data from all the exhibitions that have taken place in the institution’s “most functional” architectural elements, its walls, over the past 5 years into square areas and cubes based on their “visual weights,” he creates works in various variations. One of these works, in the form of a sculpture, is “cubes S_S1,” which is composed of the application of specific numerical data to cubes through both compulsory and arbitrary decisions, and the stacking of these cubes in specific and arbitrary arrangements.

Sergen Şehitoğlu’s installation “cubes S_I1” is located in the main space of the Sanatorium as an apolitical data visualization.

Şehitoğlu obtains the data he uses for this production from the art institution he has been organically affiliated with for 10 years and from the venue of this institution in Karaköy Mumhane Caddesi No:67. He produces works in various variations by transforming the perceived color data of the walls of the art institution, which is the “most functional” building zone, into square areas and cubes according to their “visual weight” in all the exhibitions held in the last 5 years.

One of these works, “cubes S_I1”, which is in the form of installation, consists of applying certain numerical data to cubes with mandatory and arbitrary decisions and placing these cubes in the space with certain and arbitrary decisions.
